Start with the project environment and required duties. A refinery maintenance role, an offshore rotation and an EPC construction assignment can require different experience, certificates and mobilization steps.

• Project scope: upstream, midstream, downstream or EPC; onshore or offshore; project location and duration.
• Role requirements: equipment, processes, technical duties, reporting line and relevant project experience.
• Certificates: list the exact role-specific qualifications required, their issuing bodies and validity requirements. A list of industry certificates does not mean every candidate holds them all.
• Work arrangements: rotation, shifts, accommodation, travel, site induction and any client-specific onboarding requirements.
• Selection: agree technical interview questions, document checks and the employer’s final acceptance criteria.

Agree Screening and Mobilization Separately

Review candidate experience and certification evidence before confirming a shortlist. Agree who checks outstanding documents, who approves the offer and which items must be complete before mobilization. A recruitment shortlist is not confirmation of site access or immigration approval.
